What is better Tweet Adder or Tweet Spinner

Posted by by in Reviews, Social Media, Tools

Getting yourself up and running on Twitter can seem like a very big obstacle when you first set out. It takes a lot of time to organically add users and build your followers list.

I personally prefer the personal touch of organically sending out tweets, adding followers, following back, direct messaging etc, but at the end of the day I am very busy and a little automation help can go a long way.

I have a lot of clients and networking associates who often ask me what is the best automation tool for Twitter, or what tool is better, Tweet Adder or Tweet Spinner.

When I first got into Social Media, I was recommended Tweet Spinner, and I originally signed up for the free version. The only issue with the free version, you are limited in what you can do without buying the Tweet Spinner service. With Tweet Adder, when I signed up to compare the two tools, you were able to access the whole platform which from a usability point of view when testing a service is very important, and to be honest can often at times be the only feature that you find different when comparing a product or service. Often I have chosen a product or service over another just because the only difference I could really find was the initial trial.

TWEET ADDER

Tweet Adder has a brilliant homepage, which I have to give full credit to. It clearly explains the software, so check out this quick video.

Benefits of Tweet Adder

    Easy to Install
Lifetime membership to support and updates
One off fee with no recurring costs
When upgrading you only need to pay the difference in the pricing plans
Really simple platform – learn it in an hour!
Can be installed on up to 3 computers

The great thing about using Tweet Adder is that you can have what you call your ‘White List’ of followers, where if you manually add them, they will not be unfollowed, even if they don’t follow you back.

TWEET SPINNER

Tweet Spinner was a little disappointing with their homepage. Very little information provided and you have to enter your details to sign up before you can even have a look around to see if the software is what you are after. Check out this quick video on Tweet Spinner.

After signing up, Tweet Spinner, just like Tweet Adder has a nicely laid out platform where you can access all the different areas for your Twitter Automation. The functions are very similar to Tweet Adder, however I did notice that with Tweet Spinner your following capabilities are a lot more restricted than compared to Tweet Adders powerful search function tools.

Benefits of Tweet Spinner

    Reasonable monthly fee
De-spam and archives your Direct Mail Inbox
    Rotate your Twitter designs

Tweet Spinner is a strong competitor when it comes to Twitter software automation. Tweet Spinner has a monthly recurring cost which in my opinion means there is ongoing funds to continue developing the software in the future. The feature to also allow you to alter your Twitter designs is a great feature.

Conclusion Tweet Adder vs Tweet Spinner

Tweet Spinner is a very competitive product with regards to Twitter Automation software, but they do not in my opinion live up to the standard of Tweet Adder. The reasons for this are:

First Reason: When you go to the home page of each site, Tweet Adder has plenty of information so that you can make an informed choice. You know exactly what you are getting. With Tweet Spinner, there is next to no detail on the home page and therefore they get you to sign up first to use the free version and what it does, and from there upgrade you to a paying customer.

Second Reason: The free version of Tweet Spinner is very limited in what you can do, and I couldn’t work out how to operate it effectively from what I was allowed to do. Tweet Adder let you use the software as you normally would but it would only operate until a certain number of tweets, direct messages or followers were carried out. This enabled me to fully understand how the platform worked and whether it would be suitable for me.

Third Reason: Not sure if I am just not very technical but I found Tweet Spinner to be a lot more confusing in how to set it up and operate it effectively, whereas with Tweet Adder, after installing, I was up and running within the hour. I knew how it worked, and I wasn’t left confused. :)

Fourth Reason: The cost. This is possibly the biggest factor for me because the two tools in their entirety are fairly similar. They both follow, unfollow, tweet generate, auto direct message etc, but the prices are dramatically different. For Tweet Adder you are looking at $74 for 5 profiles, whereas Tweet Spinner you are looking at $21 per month for 5 profiles. Therefore less than 3 months later the price you pay for Tweet Spinner, would have covered your costs for buying Tweet Adder!

They say you either love them or you hate them – Automation systems. I don’t believe that automation systems like Tweet Adder and Tweet Spinner  need to be viewed negatively, generally from the view point that you can limit the amount of automation they provide you. Therefore, even if you just wanted your Twitter bio rotated, and that was all you used the software for then that can be really helpful.

Whatever Twitter Automation system you go for, you won’t go wrong either way as they both provide an exceptional service, but if cost is a contributing factor, and for most of us it is, I would look at going with Tweet Adder.

I agree with you on the usability front Aaron – like you I took the free trial version of TweetAdder and was seriously impressed with both its flexibility and ease of use. Twitter automation doesn’t play such a huge part in my life that I was willing to put in the extra hours to try to find out how TweetSpinner differed; TweetAdder did exactly what it said on the tin, so there really was no choice. That’s good marketing on TweetAdder’s part.

Good points Martin. I am sure Tweet Spinner does a great job but like you I have minimal spare time so from a cost perspective and ease of use, Tweet Adder took the golden award.

Nice article, I’ve been trialling tweet adder and have found it very useful on the searches, tweet spinner I haven’t really looked into much, but after all the feedback I’m hearing, I don’t see the point.

I have used Tweet Adder (over Tweet Spinner) in the past because they do essentially the same thing, but Tweet Adder is only a one off payment. Don’t see the point in paying monthly for an automated software that should only be used for advanced strategies and not just for building a pointless following.
